Hold John Starks Rites at Laona

John Otis Starks, 75, a former resident of Laona, died suddenly at Ewen, MI, at 7 o’clock yesterday morning.  Death resulted from a heart attack.

Deceased was born Sept 20, 1879 at Polar, WI.  He was married to Ada Erickson.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons.

Laona – Mr. Tipton died at 7:30 Friday evening at Mt. Sinai hospital, Milwaukee.

Deceased was born Jan 30, 1872, in Powell county, KY.  He was married in 1898 to Emma Patton, who died May 30, 1948.  In July, 1908, they moved to Laona where he took up farming.

Surviving are five daughters and two sons; five sisters and a brother.

Edw. Winkler Dies of Heart Attack

Edward M. Winkler of Unity, died of a heart attack Friday morning at the home of his son, Edward Jr., Silver Lake, Laona.

Born Aug 6 1883, at Unity.  Married May 10, 1911 to Thea Williamson at Spencer.

Survivors include 3 sons; Edward Jr, John, and Norman; 2 daughters; 2 brothers, and a sister.

Lew Sarett, Ex-Laona Poet-Author is Dead

Lew Sarett passed away at his Gainesville, FL home of a heart attack.  Survived by widow, one son and one daughter.
