Oral History and Archaeology of the Keith’s Siding Site Location

On Monday July 21st at 7:00 pm Amanda Flannery will present her research on “Oral History and Archaeology of the Keith’s Siding Site Location” at the Crandon Public Library. Amanda Flannery is the Local History Clerk at the Crandon Public Library and Curator at the Forest County Historical Society. She completed the research for the presentation in order to obtain her Master’s of Science in Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee last December. The presentation will summarize how Amanda used local oral histories, historical documentation, and archaeological data to better understand the settlement of Keith’s Siding, a former lumber settlement that was located just outside of Crandon.
